Alice in Wonderland Thumbnail Sketches

The Leader - I went to the park and kept seeing signets, goslings and of course ducklings! I immediatly had this idea pop in my head and I went for it.

Spring in London has been wonderful! The other day I was in the park sitting in a field of Queen Anne Lace flowers and was inspired to go home and break out the paint!

Pretty in Pink - Some days you just get the itch to break out the paint and make a piece purely for fun! I haven’t used my water colors in a long time so I went ahead and painted a pretty red head! She is inspired by Molly Ringwald and Kate Gabrielle.

Space Adventure - I love old 1960’s illustrations and I thought it would be fun pay homage to Pulp Sci-fi illustrations but with some Jetsons influence and of course my own design sensibilities.

Space Adventure Sketch - I have been really inspired by 60’s pulp illustrations! These are two sketches as an ode to the Sci-fi pulp genre.

Gogo Girl - I have been in love with 60’s era art and design since I was a teenager and I recently have been feeling very inspired by 60’s poster art again! I had so much fun with this illustration and I plan to make some more retro inspired pieces.

Gogo Girl Process - I loved my color variations and some of my other 60’s inspired sketches for this piece so I thought it would be fun to share them!

Tween Daydream - This is the final piece. I cropped in to put the focus more on the girl and make it easier to see a lot of the little details like the pattern on the bedspread, doodles, posters, photo’s on the wall and the little trinkets on the bedside table. This piece ended up being very autobiographical to the point where the girl is drawing my high school (and current) boyfriend!
